Job Description

The main product at Zama is fhevm, which allows everyone to add privacy in their blockchain-based applications, without having to know anything about cryptography. Zama’s fhevm comes with tools using frameworks already known to blockchain developers, such as the use of Solidity library, Hardhat or Foundry plugins. Fhevm uses Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) and also comes with a Key Management System (KMS), which is based on Multi Party Computation (MPC).

Our team is seeking a Developer Experience Engineer to build and improve the tools developers use every day when working with fhevm. You’ll design, develop, and maintain developer-facing tools such as SDKs, mocks, IDE plugins, CLI utilities, and more. You will be at the intersection of engineering and user experience, ensuring that developers can integrate Zama’s products with ease, confidence, and joy.

Your team (and thus you) will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining developer tools (SDKs, mocks, IDE plugins, CLI utilities, etc.)

  • Improving the developer experience through automation, streamlined workflows, and integrations with popular frameworks and environments

  • Collaborating with product, documentation, and support teams to ensure tools meet real developer needs

  • Writing clear, high-quality technical documentation and examples to showcase best practices

  • Gathering feedback from the community and incorporating it into the evolution of our tools

  • Staying up to date with JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems, blockchain frameworks, and developer tooling best practices

Preferred Experience

  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and experience building SDKs, libraries, or developer tools

  • Familiarity with blockchain development frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Foundry) is a plus

  • Experience with IDE/plugin development (VS Code, JetBrains, etc.) is a plus

  • A strong sense of empathy for developers and passion for improving their workflows

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, support, and documentation teams
