Job Description

Zama are looking for an in-house Legal Counsel with expertise in Intellectual Property. This person will project manage day-to-day legal activities of our growing startup based in Paris, France. Experience with French corporate law and international business law is essential, as you'll be negotiating contracts with key international accounts. Working directly with the CEO and the Chief of Staff, you will:

  • Advise the CEO and leadership team on all legal matters.
  • Review and advise on IP claims, including IDFs and patent applications.
  • Regularly review, update, and/or develop employment documentation for staff.
  • Maintain a repository of the company's legal documents and be the point of contact for all due diligence requests.
  • Ensure accurate company records are maintained and updated regularly.

Preferred Experience

He / She / They should have:

  • At least a master’s degree (MBA or LLM) or significant on-the-job experience in law, legal studies, or a related field.
  • At least 5-8 years of related in-house legal experience, ideally in a French startup.
  • Must have experience in French corporate law.
  • A demonstrated track record of project management.
  • Strong organisational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

The candidate should be based in or near Paris, and/or be willing to travel to our Paris offices at least once a week.
