Job Description

We are looking for a second-year masters student (last year). The internship will take place within one of Zama's research teams which are responsible for discovering new cryptographic techniques to compute on encrypted data, among other topics. Their researchers are also working with the engineers to implement research results in the products.

The goal of this internship will be to understand homomorphic encryption, improve the existing techniques and implement the results on tfhe-rs. In particular, for the latter, your will write high performance code in Rust or improve the existing Rust code to make it faster (SIMD, parallelization).

We believe this experience will train the candidate both on the research and the implementation side, since s/he will work with a team of cryptographers and will implement their results in an open source library used by the community.

Preferred Experience

He/she/they should have:

  • is/are a second-year masters student/s (last year)
  • has/have a solid background in cryptography, possibly with some knowledge in FHE and machine learning;
  • has/have some development experience, possibly with a background in Rust;
  • is/are passionate about privacy, open source and willing to learn;
  • has/have a problem-solving attitude;
  • has/have good communication skills.
